Profiles
Rubber profiles can be used as seals or shielding from sharp edges, vibration dampers, acoustic sealing, gap fillers, etc.
At HTR, we don’t have standard profiles: we develop an optimal profile for every application. Of course, ‘optimal’ means the function required in the application but also takes into account wishes such as lifespan, mountability, etc.
The tool investments for rubber profiles are relatively low compared to injection moulds, for example. However, the minimum order quantity for rubber extrusion is often larger than expected. This is partly because a minimum amount of rubber compound must be specially mixed, and partly because rubber extrusion lines are very long, resulting in a considerable startup length when setting up the line.
HTR can offer rubber extrusion in all possible types of rubber, depending on your application, such as:
EPDM | Silicone (VMQ) |
NR | NBR-PVC |
SBR | FKM (Viton) |
Cr | Nbr |
Hnbr | etc. |
Extrusion can be done in one component, but HTR can also provide co-extrusion, whereby two components can be formed in one profile.
A combination of two different hardnesses, a combination of solid with cellular rubber or a combination of two different types of rubber are also more than possible.
